Tomorrow is The Future Today!
By: Amber George

Stop and think! What are you going to be doing in the next five to ten years? Do you even know what you are going to be doing tomorrow?? As a Lake Hamilton High School student, it is in our best interests to make future plans. Some students know what they want to be doing after high school. They are already set for the future, but many students at Lake Hamilton High School don’t even care. They don’t have a clue what they want to do with their lives.
Since I was in third grade, I have had my goals planed out. With the help of the school counselors, my future is set. If you go to the school counselors they will help you. That’s their job. That’s what they are there for. If you don’t think you can afford college think again, because there are all sorts of scholarships, grants, and loans out there. Ask the counselors about Talent Search. Talent Search is a program set up to help kids find a cheap way to college. I assure you that if there is a way the counselors will find it.
If you want to go to college, but you haven’t made any plans about going yet, start planning. It’s never too early. In my opinion, putting college off is the worst idea ever. Many students who say they want to take a break and wait to go back to school, rarely ever do. Those are the people who have their high school diploma but because they didn’t go to college it’s no use to them and they are flipping burgers. That is thirteen years of work you did just to scoop and flip. I mean if you graduate you deserve a better future then that. What are a few extra years of school if it means a brighter and easier future for you?
Think about it. Tomorrow is your future today. Start planning. Make it worth the thirteen years you have put in at Lake Hamilton School. Go to school and work to be able to provide a good future for yourself and/or your future family.
