Prom 2011
By: Cameron Anderson
On the morning of April 16th, I, along with many other Lake Hamilton students woke up anxious for prom. During the day I tried my best to get some sleep to give me energy for the long night ahead. Unlike the girls who were busy getting there hair, nails, and make up done, I laid in bed all day long resting up. Hours passed and it was finally time to turn my swag on! While the wait in line to enter the convention center was long the wait was definitely worth it. Everyone was displaying there dancing skills and for once it seemed like everyone was getting along, which was a good change from all the “drama” that comes with high school students. Prom ended at midnight but the fun was just getting started!
Along with many others I attended Project Prom. Project Prom was from 1-5 am in the high school gym. There was an obstacle course, boxing, and sumo wrestling along with many other fun activities. For seniors it was also a chance to win prizes much of which for college dorms that they can use next year. There were free food and drinks for all who attended and was free for juniors and seniors from Lake Hamilton to attend. All in all Project Prom was a fun and safe way to remember prom which only comes twice for many students.
After Project Prom had ended many of the students like myself went to Ihop for an early breakfast around 5:30. After finishing up our meal, we all said hello to the other students from Lake Hamilton and headed home. The drive seemed so long and I was just ready to drop everyone off and hop into my cozy bed. Finally, I made it home and went straight to bed! I slept all day and woke up late in the afternoon. Prom 2011 was definitely a night I wont forget!
