Party or Not to Party??

It’s your first year at Lake Hamilton High School
Many students come from the junior high thinking that high school is going to be nothing but dances, parties, and club activities. Not everyone is prepared for the actual work. If you don’t goof off your sophomore year it makes your senior year easier on you. I’ve learned from personal experience that if you fail more then one class your sophomore year it makes senior year a lot more stressful and provides work for you. High School isn’t as hard as most make it seem, because all you have to do is listen and do your work.
If you do the work, it’s easy to get the 22 recommended credits by the time you graduate. More then half of your grade comes from homework, so if you get that done, you will more than likely pass. When asked what she expected high school to be like when she was a freshman, current sophomore, Ashley Hill replied with, “I thought high school was going to be super hard, but actually, it’s easy if you do the work”.
High School is hard, but in many ways, it’s easy. If you pay attention in class and use your time wisely, then you can get most, if not all, work done in class and still have time for your social life. If you don’t get something ask a teacher for help, its there job to teach you. If you don’t like asking questions in class stay after class or attend the tutoring program on Tuesday and Thursday from 3:05pm to 4:10pm, where there will be teachers for each subject there to help you with anything you don’t understand.
There are many reasons that high school isn’t as hard as most students make it. You just have to work hard and pay attention. Put forth the effort because in the end I promise all your hard work will pay off. (Remember if you can dream it, you can achieve it.-Walt Disney)
